KidRock- Is basically a club which is both for under and over 18's. It's a venue which is only open on Friday and Saturday with a band playing every day its open. The tickets have been decided to be sold only at the venue, and the website provides all information in which needs to be known to customers and people involved with the club. Therefore, basically we have the promotional documents such as the brochures and flyer's, although the major promotional document will the the website as more people can access it, making it easier for people to hear about the venue.

For the assignment we used a variety of software in order to make the venue and everything that goes with it. This included that of Microsoft Office Publisher, Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Front Page, Paint, Blogger and The Internet- in order to find information on the bands, upload the Internet page, and have sources for the video's and music.

For this assignment, our group consisting of Brianna, Melanie and myself, had the problem that we hardley ever had a lesson where we were all present. This was because of the fact that Brianna had school sport days that she had to attend, Melanie had piano and I had Entertainment. So, therefore we were limited on the lessons were we could work as a group.
Although throughout the time that was given, I did manage to do all the promotional components and have an imput in other sections of the assignment. I designed and completed the flyers, brouchers, tickets and business cards. I also did a summery about all the bands that are on the list to play at our club KidRock along with links to their band pages.I have also included a small list of terms and conditions which will apply to the venue. I have also helped Melanie to create small parts of the actual website, and helped her design and complete the database for the bands.
With the time that was given, I believe that we weren't sufficient with the time we were given, as there were still large components left towards the due date of the assignment.
Although there were a few problems, I believe that we did work well together, and would be very capable of running our own nightclub :).
Although I do think that we may have had a problem with our communication between the group as there was some components which weren't agreed on when we were designing parts of the assignment, even after one of us had started with a particular idea. another problem we had was the fact that I found it hard to find audio for the bands as to put onto the site. Although I did have links to youtube video's I just wasn't sure if that would be good enough. Although because we didnt really manage our time well enough there wasn't enough time tawords the end to find and download suitable songs and then figure out how to upload them onto the website, in time for the due date.
As a group we did manage to have many ideas that were helpful along the way. Although it did take us along time to come up with and agree on an idea for the name of the club, with us finally settling on the name KidRock a couple of weeks before it was due. Other idea's we had involved the website, and the ways that we could make it work and look better for our favour. We added sections into it, and made other sections - including those of the promotional doucuments - simple enough that people will read them, but also appealing to the eye, so as too attract attention and hopefully gain customers.
When we did finally agree on the name of KidRock, we silently succeded as we started to work a lot faster and get the parts of the assignment done. This is what drove us to complete the task. Overall, the way we worked together was good, because we wern't affraid to say our idea's to eachother which ment that we had a relaxed enviroment (when we wern't stressing over when it was due), and that we could build idea's off eachother.
With that I do believe that our final product was at a high standard and am confident that we completed all parts of the assignment to a satisfactory level. I am happy with the group that I was placed with and beleive that we all had an equal imput tawords the final product.

Terms and Conditions

1. Drivers license or proof of age card must be shown at the bar to receive drinks.
2. Underage drinkers will be escorted off the premises.
3. Those found supplying alcohol to underage persons will be fined.
4. Tickets may not be refunded.
5. Maximum tickets sold per person is 8
6. Entry into KidRock is only given via ticket display
7. Unrespectful behaviour will result in person/s being kicked off the premises, or the police may be called.
8. If any illegal substances/ objects are brought onto the premises, they will be confiscated and the police will be called.

Summary About The Bands...

- Heroes For Hire -
With this young Aussie band coming from the Parramatta area, they have quickly risen to fame. With their album "Life Of The Party" being released in April and their EP "Lights Out" released in 2008, they have toured the country gaining many fans throughout the years. They opened the show for SoundWave 2010 and have guest stared along side McFly, Boys Like Girls and Short Stack.



- Tonight Alive -
This 5 piece band from Sydney with the singer Jenna being only 17, have their debut album "All Shapes and Disguises" in stores now! This young band sounds like a mixture between Paramore and Hey Monday out for a night. Opening for The Wonder Years in September, this band is going to be the hit on every one's playlists.



- The Never Ever! -
This young band from Sydney with their top hit "She Said" is fronted by lead man Colby McQueen. With a mix between Motion City Soundtrack and All Time Low this band is bound to get you dancing and singing along in your bedroom. With the band only forming in 2009, and having their EP "Dancefloors and Dinosaurs" out now, this band is going to be going far, very quickly!




- Skybombers -
Being a four piece band from Melboune they formed the band while they were still in high school. They have played to over 50,000 school kids and have also guest stared along side McFly and Heroes For Hire, with their Debut Album "Take Me To Town", these boys are being played on the radio's, and they never fail to get the crowd screaming and jumping at their performances.



- Sienna Skies -
Hailing from Sydney this band of six, with their debut album released in 2007, are set to rock the stage. They have also been known to have a "big suprise for the fans".




- The Acclaimed -
Hailing from Queensland these four kids are set to make it big time. Forming in 2009 they have their debut album set to be released late this year/ early next year. Sounding like All Time Low had a tea party with Short Stack.




- Burnt At The Stake -
This young five piece band from Sydney's West forming in late 2008, is currently recording their debut album all while their hit song "Bats" is being played on radio's.



- Kid Courageous -
With this pop-punk band originating from Sydney in 2004, you can be assured that they have a great sound with their cover of "Is She Really Going Out With him" by Joe Jackson. With their two albums, along with on of their soings written by Gwen Stefani, this band gets the crowd going with their powerful lyrics and sound.



- The Amity Affliction -
Originating in Brisbane 2002 they have released 2 albums with "Youngbloods" reaching number 6 on the ARIA charts. With Clint Splattering from the Getaway Plan being a part of the band, it can be assured that they will get ay crowd pumpng with excitment. Guest staring for The Getaway Plan and Amityville Horror, this young band have a bright future ahead of them.




- Behind Crimson Eyes -
6 years, over 400 shows, 2 EP's and 2 Albums later, this band from Melbourne are going back to the studio to record their next album. These four boys have guest stared for many bands including The Living End and have been apart of the PushOver Festival 2010 and on the 20th of Septemeber will be apart of the Open Arms Festival.



- SkyWay -
This 5 piece pop punk band from the Gold Cost Brisbane has the sound of New Found Glory, All Time Low and Set Your Goals is an upcoming band set to hit the high stages some time close in the near future with their debut album due out early next year.

Term 3 Assignment

So basically, being my first real blog. Ive been placed on the role of the promotional documents, including the brouchers, flyers, band dates and tickets. I have also created a set of terms and conditions for the location.

Today in my free, I designed tickets and decided that for a gig mon-thurs it would be $15 and from fri-sun it would be $20.

I also wrote out Terms and Conditions for the gig's and the bar.
It is going to be an all ages venue, that way the artist of each night will have a wider variety of fans present.

So basically i have the artist and contact page done.

I also came up with the name KidRock. Melanie thought it was ok, but I havnt asked Brianna yet.

For the Assesment,

We have been given. Brianna and I are pairing up and have decided to make the interview for the students of the school.
So basically were splitting up the work load and taking it one piece at a time :)

So, for the last coupla days....

We have been working on a survey for both students, teachers and parents. Where doing the project as a class, and the aim is the decide weather or not the students of our school should receive a laptop. This debate has lasted over the past 3 lessons.

In the first lesson, Sir told us about his idea, and how we would be doing a small mini group project as an introduction to our next assignment and topic. This was soon changed into a major assignment we shall be doing in the class. This is mainly because of the fact that the class took great interest into the topic, because as students as students we want laptops. This took mainly a whole lesson.

In the second lesson, we went through, as a class, the questions in which will need to be asked. We decided to have different questions for the students, teachers and parents, as every category has different responsibilities and uses for the laptops. In the lesson we also assigned people to the topic of their choosing. I am I'm a group with Brianna and Melanie, and we shall be asking the questions to the teachers of our school.

half the assignment

So, today Mr Lennon is back :) And so is Christel :)

So we had a little dicussion about the assignment and Christel and I have both divided the questions we have to do. I got:
 global network issues, time zones, date fields, exchange rates
 changing nature of work for participants, such as work from home and telecommuting
 current developments and future trends in digital communications, radio and television
 the impact of the Internet on traditional business

And we're going to present it on a powerpoint, but because we are starting so late, we have a lot of work, due to the fact that it will be due on friday.

So today Mr Lennon wasnt here, and neither was Christel. And I have no idea what I need to actually do, as I am really confused at the moment. I'm stuck on how I need to present the work and what part I have to do.
I was also away for the first lesson, due to Entertainment, so if the class was told anything then about the assignment I have missed out on it.
I have tried researching information about my part receiving but I don't understand what I am supposed to be finding out.

Today's lesson :)

so today me and Christel got together and decided what where going to do, as we were both away last lesson.
I know that I'm going to be doing the "receiving" half.
I also fixed up my IGoogle.... and am posting this blog from there, so if it works, IDK.....

This is the Context behind a simple transaction and a supermarket.

Colour Depth

A couple of lesson's ago we discusssed the colour depth and they way the bit depth is a part of a video and/or a still image. In the chart 256 colours are given (in a picture or video). Although to trick a human, it would take over 16 million colours. (YOU LEARN ONE THING A DAY :p )
In the chart, it is only a display of the minimanl colours, to the resoultion wouldn't be good, because of the fact that you need a specific number of colours to create this/ or any image.

For the past 2 lessons weve been talking about conteext diagrams, and how they are used in workplaces and the way that they are used.
this diagram is one that Sir drew up on the bored as an example for us to follow off for our own.

For the last 2 lessons Ive helped out at the Morley centre as we had an opening school mass, and I got to help out with the setting up.

So our group got an extension on our assignment, and now, we are continuing to work on it.

So, I didn't complete the worksheet thingo the first night we got the sheet. But then today in class, the example used was the place I work, and based on the information I gave to the class.
I had the majority of the work done, and now, at home, when I open the programe at home, it wont allow me to edit the work I have done.
Although tomorrow, I miss out on my lesson, as I will be doing Entertainment.
